Hi! I'm Jacques Wienicke, based in Cologne, Germany – working internationally.

I work as a Director of Photography and Camera Operator with a focus on documentary, factual and music-related formats. I believe that story-driven visual content can reach people’s minds and emotions in a way few other mediums can. That belief is what led me to filmmaking and what continues to drive my work today.

Through images, I aim to create awareness for issues that matter and to evoke emotions that can spark reflection, dialogue, and sometimes even action. I’m mostly interested in real-life environments, human interaction, and the subtle moments that reveal something honest and essential.

My work is shaped by a handheld, observational approach and an unobtrusive camera presence, staying close to the situation as it unfolds. I bring international experience and am comfortable working in diverse cultural contexts, as well as in outdoor and remote field production environments. I’m experienced with both lightweight handheld setups and larger camera rigs, adapting my visual language to different production scales and working conditions - always with the intention of serving the story and the people in front of the lens.
